Florida car accident attorneyAs Fort Myers accident attorneys, we know how devastating a hit-and-run accident can be for the victim’s family. Therefore, we were pleased to learn that an arrest has been made in the accident that killed a local motorcyclist in February.

Kevin Wynne of Lake Mary, an Orlando chiropractor, was arrested on a charge of leaving the scene of a crash involving a death, according to FHP spokeswoman Sgt. Kim Montes.

As detailed by, Sabra Vocaturo, 50, of Fort Myers was riding in the rain on State Road 415, west of New Smyrna Beach, when a vehicle struck her motorcycle from behind. The impact threw her into oncoming traffic, where two vehicles could not avoid striking her.

Investigators have now determined that Wynne was driving the vehicle in question, a late-model Infiniti QX-56. After striking Vocaturo, he fled the scene accident without stopping to render aid.

According to FHP, there are four top reasons why drivers will leave the scene of a Fort Myers car accident:

  • They do not have a valid driver’s license;
  • They are not insured;
  • There is a warrant out for their arrest or they are on probation;
  • They are under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

"Dr. Wynne had a license, had insurance, wasn't wanted and we don't know about the other," said Montes.
