Impaired Driving Campaign Begins This Month on Florida Roadways

by Carmen Dellutri on August 10, 2012

Naples accident attorneyAs Fort Myers accidents attorneys, we know firsthand that impaired driving remains a serious concern on Florida roadways. In 2010, 10,228 people died nationwide in traffic crashes in which at least one driver or motorcycle rider had a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of .08 grams per deciliter or higher.

With this in mind, we want to make sure all of readers are aware of an upcoming national campaign to deter drunk driving. From August 17 to September 3, local law enforcement will be cracking down on impaired drivers through the “Drive Sober of Get Pulled Over Campaign.” It aims to get impaired drivers off the road, raise public awareness about the dangers of impaired driving, and most importantly, to save more lives.

Research has shown that high-visibility enforcement like the “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign reduces alcohol-impaired driving fatalities by as much as 20 percent. Therefore, we are hopeful that these efforts will help keep our roadways safe as we celebrate the last days of summer.

The Dellutri Law Group is focused on making bad situations better and putting lives back together. If you or someone you love has been seriously injured in a Fort Myers accident caused by someone else’s negligence, you may be entitled to compensation.
