Sports Stars on Not Immune to Florida Car Accidents

Sarasota personal injury attorneyAs Cape Coral injury attorneys, we know that Florida car accidents can happen to anyone. Cameron Wake was recently forced to spend some of the NFL pre-season on the sidelines after being involved in a serious car accident. Luckily for Wake and Miami Dolphins’ fans, his injuries were only minor.

According to the Sun-Sentinel, Wake crashed his black BMW into the side of a white Lexus that made a left turn in front of him at a Plantation intersection. The driver of the other vehicle was cited for violating Wake's right-of-way, according to police spokesman Detective Robert Rettig.

Both vehicles were totaled in the accident. However, because both men were wearing seat belts and the air bags were deployed in both vehicles, no one was seriously injured.

Although Wake was not responsible for the crash, that is not always the case with sports stars. University of Miami football player Seantrel Henderson was recently cited for running a red light and causing a serious car accident. Henderson sustained injuries to his neck, head and mouth; he is reportedly still suffering from the effects of a concussion, which have kept him off the football team.

The occupants of the vehicle Henderson struck were also fortunate to avoid serious injury. The vehicle was carrying five children, one of whom was ejected from the vehicle. Thankfully, the five-year-old girl only suffered minor injuries.
