Florida Woman Causes Accident By Grooming While Driving

Cape Coral car accident attorneyWhile distracted driving prevention activities often target cell phones, a wide variety of activities can take a driver’s attention from the road and cause a serious accident. As we discussed on this Florida Injury Blog just a few weeks, simply daydreaming contributes to a large number of distracted driving accidents.

In Florida, a female driver recently made headlines for grooming while driving. As reported by NBC-2.com, the woman was shaving her bikini areas while behind the wheel. The vehicle she was driving hit another car from behind, causing minor injuries to the occupants.

To make matters worse, the driver and the passenger then drove another half-mile after the crash and switched seats, so it appeared that the passenger was driving.  She was charged with driving with a revoked license, reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident with injuries and driving with no insurance.

The driver not only put herself at risk for injury, but also endangered everyone else on the roadway. As a reminder, it is important to always focus on the task at hand—driving! That means refraining from eating, drinking, reading, grooming and any other activity that takes your mind and eyes off the road.
