Celebrity’s Florida Jet Ski Accident Highlights Danger of Risky Behavior

by Carmen Dellutri on June 15, 2011

Florida jet-ski accident attorneyHip-hop star Sean Kingston was critically injured in a severe Florida jet ski accident last weekend. The singer suffered a broken jaw, fractured wrist, and water in his lungs, according to multiple media reports. Although Kingston is expected to recover, accident reports indicate that he nearly drowned after his life jacket came off when he collided with the Miami bridge.

Kingston’s passenger, Cassandra Sanchez, 23, was also injured and hospitalized.

Although it appears that the accident was not alcohol-related, it is likely that speed was a significant factor. In an interview with TMZ, Sanchez said she urged her friend to slow down during the ride.

As Kingston raced toward a Miami Beach bridge, Sanchez recounts her reaction, as she screamed at the artist: "We can't fit under there! Are we going to try and go under there? Sean, stop!"

According to Sanchez, Kingston tried to swerve at the last minute, but lost control of the jet ski.

Kingston’s Florida jet ski accident highlights what can happen when people take unnecessary risks while riding a personal watercraft. In this case, Kingston and his passenger are expected to fully recover from their injuries. Unfortunately, this is not always the case.
