Florida Teens Bond Over Florida Accident Injuries

by Carmen Dellutri on June 23, 2011

Florida accident Two young teens are offering each other encouragement as they continue to recover from injuries suffered in two separate Florida accidents, reports the Sun Sentinel.

Jenna VonLangen, 13, was injured in a Florida car accident when the car in which she was riding veered off the road and collided with a palm tree in Tequesta over Memorial Day weekend, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Her friend, Gabby DeSouza, 15, lost her leg in February after it was mangled by a boat propeller in a tragic Florida boat accident.

Gabby, who is still rehabilitating from her amputation, is familiar with what her friend Jenna will be facing as she recovers and is offering encouragement and advice.

Gabby's recent time at St. Mary's Medical Center has made her quite familiar with how the hospital handles traumatic injuries. When she was hospitalized in critical condition, Jenna was by Gabby's side. Now, it's the other way around.

Although it appears that both teens’ injuries could have been prevented, this story shows that some good can come from a tragic Florida accident.
