Cape Coral Man Lucky to Survive Serious Bicycle Accident

According to police, the impact of the crash propelled the bicyclist up onto the SUV’s hood and into the windshield, before being ejected onto the roadway. The bicyclist, who was not wearing a helmet, sustained serious head injuries. Thankfully, he has since been released from Lee Memorial Hospital.

Naples Crash Highlights Importance of Pedestrian Safety at Night

Cars_Assorted_6090-(14)In 2010, 4,280 pedestrians were killed in traffic accidents, while another 70,000 were injured. In Naples, a crash recently left a pedestrian with serious injuries.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, the accident took place around 11:30 p.m. at U.S. 41 and Palm Street in East Naples. The pedestrian was crossing the highway mid-block when a driver was unable to avoid the collision. Although the accident is still under investigation, the police indicated that charges are pending.
